Blackpast.org is an online reference center that include over 4,000 entries with 55 entries for individuals with a connection to Tacoma. We have linked the 22 individuals who are deceased with their profile on the Family Tree and you can use this google sheet to learn more about their families and see if you are related.

Jenny Tenlen has organized an effort to transcribe Washington biographies from existing sources that are no longer under copyright. This database includes biographies for 67 individuals who lived in Pierce county. You can use this google sheet to see the FamilySearch profile of the individuals to learn more about their family and see if you are related.

The Tacoma Public Library has an online oral history collection that that includes 19 oral histories from prominent members of the community that were conducted in the 1970s. We use the meta data and other information about these individuals to link them to their profile on the Family Tree. This google sheet provides some information about the photos we have successfully linked. The Tacoma Public Library also has an index of 486,000 obituaries or death notices for Pierce County.
