You can help increase the coverage and quality of the Family Tree by attaching records to profiles for people. You can access these hints here and type in the name of the county you want to do in the second box. Each of the dots that appear are record hints that you can do. These record hints have the potential to add new people to the Family Tree or add additional information about people who already have a profile.

Sometimes people show up on the Family Tree in more than one place. It is helpful to merge these profiles together so that when people visit a profile they can see all of the possible information and family connections about that person. Here is a link to a google sheet with some possible duplicates you can help with. Just be careful not to merge twins, they can be a bit tricky.

Knowing someone's death date can help a lot in finding other records for them including a death certificate, gravestone, or obituary. We have created a Google Sheet of people who have a profile on the Family Tree, but don’t have a death date. Go to their profile and use the search tools on FamilySearch, Ancestry, and Google to see if you can find a death record for the person and then add this information to their profile. Feel free to attach other records or add in additional information or family members you find in the process.

As the Tacoma Family History Center began holding focus group meetings, they noticed that there were far fewer records available in Tacoma for people with African American ancestors. In order to help more people see their family, we have gathered data from local records into google sheets and volunteers can help add these individuals to the Family Tree. If you want to do more, you can use Family Search hints to add more information for each family and start to connect them to other families on the Family Tree.
